The [tag]diet secret[/tag] is out, and it’s not in the stars that [tag]Dom Perignon[/tag] saw when he invented Champagne.
No, it’s more mundane than that. The French are right after all: Eat more slowly (and consume smaller portions), take your time to enjoy things, and then walk more (can’t afford cars anyway in France). You’ll find yourself slimmer and no doubt healthier.
Thus confirms a recent study.Â
I’ve always felt that Europeans had an edge on us in keeping the pounds off because they are forced to walk a lot. Here in California, if you’re going to lunch across the street, you’ll take your car–even if it takes a half-hour to find a parking spot–because to be seen in your car confirms your existence and relative worth therein.
And if you’re a student who has to walk five miles to the school, you’ll sue the school district and collect big while you get fat.
It’s a strange world we live in–and getting more Jaba the Hut-like everyday.
